Dave Friedrichs is Managing Member of Homeland Builders. A licensed builder since 1990 and Certified Green Professional with NAHB, Dave formed Homeland to deploy renewable energy (RE) and work on energy efficiency (EE) with a focus on SE Michigan. He has assembled a team committed to helping public entities and private individuals and firms to determine how best to adopt sustainable energy technologies and to save on long-term expenses in the process. Dave’s background is in asset management (as a CPM), cooperative banking and project management. He has a degree in economics from Michigan State and also studied in Brasil & at UW.
Mark Dorogi is Project Manager for Homeland Builders’ solar installations and an engineer and production manager by education and experience. He has a Master’s Degree in Applied Physics from Cornell University and came to Michigan with Philips Electronics in 1989. His interest in renewable energy and the potential of new start- ups kept him in the area after Philips left. Mark also has five years of experience as a research and development engineer for a manufacturer of thin-film solar panels. He has managed both solar electric and solar thermal installations for Homeland, and has an insider’s experience on all things solar which he brings to the technical aspects of Homeland’s projects.
D. Mark Doman serves as Professional Engineer for projects of Homeland Solar and Homeland Builders. He is licensed in Michigan and six other states and has over 30-years of experience in the design, construction and maintenance of large, complicated machines and equipment. Mark is on the national standards writing committees of ASTM and ANSI. Taking a professional interest in renewable energy projects, he has designed and engineered installations of both solar PV and wind turbines. He is a graduate of the Sibley School of Mechanical Engineering and received his MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
Jonathan Dreyfuss is the Commercial Sales Manager of Homeland Solar. Jonathan's previous positions include founding three different Ann Arbor companies: Greenscape Systems, Fundamental Playscapes and Resource Recycling Systems. Jonathan also Co-Founded Recycle Ann Arbor, the first curbside recycling program in Michigan; based on his experience there, he became a consultant for recycling programs state-wide. Jonathan has a Bachelors in Science National Resources from the University of Michigan.
John Freeman is the Outreach & Projects Coordinator for Homeland Builders. In this capacity John works with individuals, business and community leaders to develop renewable energy projects. John has worked throughout his career to bring people together to expand economic development opportunities within communities. John served six years in the Michigan House of Representatives representing Royal Oak, Madison Heights and Hazel Park. John received his law degree from the University of Detroit School of Law and his Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan.
